Stock Accent vs. Stock Civic DX
Ok, so my buddy at work here brought his g/f's Civic DX to work today so we decided to race.
We weren't planning very well, so we didn't have any way for both of us to start. We ended up throwing a penny and took off when it hit the ground. Well, I threw the penny so I wasn't paying attention to my launch. I ended up launching at 1000RPM <img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>. We launched side by side and kept even till halfway through 2nd gear he started pulling, into 3rd gear and I pulled back and started passing him, then we slowed down due to an upcoming turn (we weren't sure how close to a <i>true</i> 1/4 mile we were, but we got to about 75mph). We called it even on that race and turned around to race one more time. This time I got my launch down and launched at around 3000RPM. I quickly took off to a car length lead and extended it into 2 cars by the end of our "stretch" we were racing on. I hit the hazards and parked my car back in the parking lot, proud of my victory <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>.
We're racing again with somebody starting us sometime later (probably a week or so). We'll see how that goes.
