Why is the language being sensored at all.

I know it's either on or off on the site, but why choose on.

This site isn't exactly easy to get to, and anyone on here should be at least 16 years old, considering they probably have a driver's license if they're interested. 95% of the people on here are over 18, so I'm sure everyone can deal with a little language.

If I want to say **** (fack) or **** (shizzit) to get a point across I should be able to do so. Even for those under 18, they hear swearing non stop from all of their friends and on tv, and on every other site on the net.

Who thinks the swearing filter should be turned off?

90% of the cussing doesn't bother me. I turned it back on because people felt the need to say "fuck" in the main forums. I don't care if that word is said in the flame forum, but I don't want it in the rest of the forums.

If we can keep that word out of the normal forums I'll turn the filter back off.

Yes I'm sorry Jonas, but like you said, everyone on here is older than 16 so therefore this shouldn't be a problem since most of us are mature enough to keep from saying bad words all the time... really man, it doesn't look right for those companies coming in here looking at the site when in every forum there's at least 1 "F*CK" word plastered on there... sorry guys, I'm sticking with ROB on this, KORE doesn't want to be associated with a forum that doesn't sensor bad words, if and when ROB updates the new forums then he can leave the bad words in the "flame" forum and that's kewl, I mean that's what flame forums are for... lol

But really, why is it that in every website with forums we always must bring out this sensorship deal??? I mean come on guys we're all mature enough to control what we say, not even what we say but what we type...

I had the post about this earlier and I agree wit 4doorgl and batlord that it should be kept in the flame though I had a few times where I accidentally put a few unclean words in other forums. So I guess we should all work a little harder to keep the foul language outta the normal forums. Man i sound like a hypocrit but I guess in hind site it all makes sense.

Sh!t, I cuss like a fvcking sailor! So I will not lecture anyone for fvcking using bad language. But even though you have a right to use the words that you want to use when you want to use them, everyone else has a right not to read them in the forums.

You still have freedom of speech. But the owner of this site has the right not have it here.

Of course he has the right.

But I don't think anyone on here minds if there is swearing.

As for Batlord's comment about the companies coming on here and seeing swearing. What are you talking about, and who are these big professional companies that don't understand message boards are just a place for regular people to come and talk about stuff.

It makes the site look bad if someone comes on and sees the F word every where he or she looks. We want the site to look a bit more professional than that.
If people would have followed my suggestion to keep the F word where it belongs, in the Flame forum, we wouldn't be having this problem.
You would still be able to say your favorite F word in here...
Sorry guys...
Just chill for a while and maybe Rob will turn it off in due time.

Man it's not that we don't want to tell you guys, it's just that when we do mention of 1 company everyone goes wild and starts emailing them and stuff when at the moment we're just trying to at least get them interested... As for your comments of them understanding this is just a forum, yes it's a forum but it's our duty to make it seem like a professional forum not just any other where all they do is have children conversations. So yes there are many companies that I, Rob and Dan and i know of some others are always in contact with trying to get them to see that Hyundai is growing, and I have many emails telling me, hey I've seen you on the forums and I need to know if you would be interested in... I will copy and paste a recent one that I got that I have not even answered yet, as I hope I have time to tonight...

and here's that copy:

quote:
Hi Yuri -

My name is Chris, I haven't posted on the HP forum as yet, but I have seen your posts, and I see you also work for Kore.
I own a performance company in South Africa called Ballistic Racing. We import the Turbonetics range of Turbochargers, and we have built probably one of the most potent Tirbuon's in the world. At 0.5bar boost we are producing 210KW and 450NM - we are still to run the 'Black Monster' on the dyno at 1.0bar.

As you see I don't lie, and I think it's important for companies like this that are out there keeping quiet to see a professional site, and not too much flaming or swearing going on in other forums that it's not the OFF-TOPIC or FLAME forum...

so I hope Jonas you understand our point... I don't think there are other forums that get the attention HP.COM does, maybe way before there was another, but I feel it didn't change for the good with time, it changed for the bad...

P.S. I personally miss posting overthere, especially for them to see what my tibby has become, but for many reasons we as in KORE don't want to be in a place that's always fighting. So please let's just try to understand why Rob has to do this, and appreciate the work he puts for the further acknowledgement of Hyundai in the tuning community.

P.S. CHRIS if you're seeing this I will answer your email tonight, I'm so sorry

I don't mean to open a can of worms, but Yuri is right. Honestly, if you have something to say, it think you are able to do it without swearing.

I do post in other Hyundai Forums and the reason why I like this one the best is because there isn't so much swearing and hatred going on here at all. I am starting to refrain myself from posting on the other forums, for the simple fact that a very negative attitude is going on there.

Here, if I post my opinions, whether or not are positive or negative, I am respected for them. KORE does want to stand out from other companies and one of the most important aspects with that is respect and profesionality. This is a forum where everyone is entitled to post their own ideas, opinions, feelings... etc. But I am sure that we can all get our point across without swearing.

And then, there is that old saying: If you don't like it, then you can leave. We want the community to grow, but if you are in this forum only to use foul language and that is stopping you from telling your situation, then really, this is not your place to be.

sal... (IR2) but honestly, Rob did the right thing using the filter cuz he had to. Imagine Hyundai coming over here because of next week's meeting with KORE and seeing F this F that... gee they'll really want to sponsor stuff huh! Just look at it this way. U can still swear, but u won't see it!!

Keep up the good work Rob, we know you're working hard!!

I agree. We have to keep a high level of professionalism here on the site. We don't want people coming down here, looking at the site and think people who own Hyundais are low class white trash...because white trash speaks with a swear after every other word. Its a turnoff to a first impression.
