Can anyone help me with suggestions for a brake upgrade....I'm sorry but I am obsessed with sharp brakes... My 97 Accent's brakes are too damn soft... I really tried slamming on them while driving, and the car wouldnt even skid a little!!...

I need something sharp to put my mind at ease....

powerslot offers cross drilled rotors (stock diameter) and www.sharkracing.com has a big brake upgrade.

I have the Tiburon BB kit.

It is nice. The rotors and calipers are a tad heavier than their stock counterparts, so there is an unsprung weight issue there, but they work so much better, I have yet to really find fault with them. And considering the other options are $1400 to $3000...the $500 kit is damn nice for the price.

The only real gripe I have is that the kit does not come with stainless steel brake lines. *pout*. But, Rob said they were coming...so I'm holding out for the HP store to go active and see. Otherwise, I'm just making my own dammit.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/laugh.gif width=15 height=31 border=0>

well, what kind of pads do you have?? if you have those stupid long lastic Metallic pads, yeah, your car wont stop very well. if you have semi mettallic you then you should be able to stop very decent. have you bled your brakes yet? do that first, see what kind of pads you have. if you bleed the brakes, and you have semi mettalics and it still doesnt stop well, go to full organics. they wont last very long, they will dust up really easy, but i guarantee you'll stop better! and you dont have ABS right? cause u cant skid if you have ABS. skidding is bad anyway, there is no traction, which means your not stopping better your just putting a flat spot on your tires
