My CD seems to get real hot.
Is there a heater duct running right by or under it or is the heater core up over, or further over there than one would expect?

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

What is the "HU"?

And if the radio/stereo had an internal amp, I doubt it should be getting this hot.
The first time it was so hot, I thought the CD should have been warped!

HU = head unit, CD's won't warp under that kind of heat, it really isn't that hot. Amps get hot no matter what.

And for further clarificaton, the Head Unit is a generic name for the audio unit (radio/cassette player/CD player/DVD player/or whatever) that is mounted in your dashboard. This is not uncommon with Elantras and some people eventually have problems playing or ejecting CDs. Best fix, unfortunately, is to get a new CD player. There are a lot of good choices in the $100-150 (US) range.
