I just about ready to get the new '03 tib gt, the question is whether or not to get the supercharger or the turbo. My other question is if hyundai basically took the sonata engine and dumped it in their can we go out and get the sonata aftermarket shtuff for the new tib?

It's not the Sonata engine. It's the new 2.7L Santa Fe engine.

How is it the same engine? The Sonata had a 2.5L. That's like saying the B16A and B18C1 are the same engine. They both have the same block and V-TEC, but one is bigger. Most parts for the B16 don't swap onto the B18. I doubt many parts from the Sonata would work on the Tib. If you mean the '02 Sonata, yes it has the same engine, but there aren't many parts for it yet. It's still a new engine. I assumed we were talking about the previous Sonata, because it's the one you can get parts for.

OK, I had a misunderstanding about the engine's, but m question still stands as if it is better/more economical to go with the supercharger instead of the turbo. With a supercharger there is a good chance you dont have to get the intercooler. what do you guys think?

If your summer temp ever gets near 90 deg., you'll want an intercooler. It's easier to put an intercooler on a turbo than on a supercharger (unless you mean a centrifigul supercharger, which is the same as a turbo). Plus, turbo's sound soooo much better.

where is the best place to get a turbo for the new tiburon GT V6. Will I have to get a custom kit or does someone know of a company who is putting one together.

I think it'll be at least a year before someone has a kit ready to sell. It would be easier to find a good custom shop near you and have a kit made.

Woah...calm down there kemosabe. The OLD sonata's had the 2.5L, the NEW sontat's have the 2.7L, just like the New Tibby and the Sante Fe.
