I need to know if there are/if any suspension requirements for the alpine s/c. how much horse power can the 97 tiburon stock suspension handle? It has been decided that i'm going the s/c route, i'm just making sure there is nothing else required besides the kit from alpine, making sure install is efficient and effective. thanks in advance.

if you look at the links in the page i posted in the all things hyundai forum, the newest post in there, i saw a page that sold superchargers for hyundais and also it talks about the suspension requirements for the supercharger.

Good times with good friends in hyundais...

supercharges can only net 170 hp @ the wheels, Randoms Turbo Tib is 168 @ the wheels and he has nothing but a rear sway bar, and no problems, ur fine with stock stuff

who the hell told you that crock of ****? you can get well over 170 out of a well tuned supercharged engine.

i thought you meant superchargers in general. but i guarantee it is very possible to get over 170 out of a supercharged tib, it just may not have been done yet.

not neccessarily, it also depends on what supercharger they are using, what size pulleys they are using, is it intercooled, can it be intercooled, other mods, is the car tuned well, piping size, is the car running good, who are the internals, etc etc etc. there are a number of things that can boost performance of a sc, and it always doesn't mean mucho dinero.

170 to the wheels or crank is the question.

wheels. i wouldn't waste my money on a sc that would only give 170 to the crank on a factory 140hp car.

I think you are misquoting Cheuk. He said 170 is the best they can do N/A with the tibby (to the wheels).

The alpine unit that bradley has is suffering from horrible tuning. It is having horrible detonation problems. If/once those are ironed out, it should do MUCH better.

There is someone who has the Alpine SC...with stock injectors (no 5th injector, no unichip), and is putting down 159 HP to the wheels, with no detonation problems. That person also has headders, full exhaust, diffeerent cams.

In regards to suspension requirements. I would say stiffer springs/upgraded shocks would be nice, but not a requirement. I would replace/stiffen the motor and tranny mounts to prevent wheel hop as well.

Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.
