Okay here it goes, I have a 2001 Accent GSi with the 1.6L dohc and a 5 speed, I would like to swap in a 2.0L beta 1 or 2 whichever is easier. I really would like to improve the power output in my LC but frankly the aftermarket support for the 1.6L is pathetic, unless you have $4000 to plop down on a turbo kit.
Questions are:
1) Which ECU would I need?
2) Will my stock 5 speed work with the beta?
3) What motor mounts would I need to bolt the 2.0 in place of the 1.6?
4) Would you recommend a beta1 or beta2 (which is easier)?
I would be attempting most of the work myself with a couple of friends/mechanics watching my back and giving me guidance, and of course the electronic Hyundai bible, HMAS for referance.
Sorry if this has been posted before, I tried searching and all I come up with is X3 and 1.5 hybrids. I need information for a 2001 1.6 dohc to 2.0 dohc swap. Thank you in advance, and once the project is under way there will be pictures of the progress...

ok he we go

1) well you can use yor 1.6l ecm but you will a piggiback asap to make the 2.0l run good, just use the 1.6L harness with the 2.0L ecm.

2) yess you can all you need is the beta flywheel with your accent 1.6L clutch pressure plate ore get any accent 1.6L performance clutch or scoup turbo

3)all you have to do if you useing the accent tranny u just need to change the passager side mont. you can use a passager side mont of any elantra or tiburon 2000 and down or make one.

4)beta 2 it rund for 2001 to 2003 in elantra or 2003 tiburon, 2004 elantra and tiburon and up have cvvt

Thanks for the info. I will pass it on to my friends and start making my shopping list and pricing things out. All of the other swaps I've read about on here were for a 1.5 to 2.0 and I just wanted to know if the 1.6 to 2.0 was different and exactly what I'd need. Hopefully I can get this done before May 2006. Again thanks.
