quote:
I have a few questions for everyone. I have an 01 Tib and wanted to get either the tach w/ shift light or just the shift light. Since I have a tach already in my dash, I'm not quite sure if I would need a tach with a shift light, or just the shift light. The tach that I would want would be the 5" inch face. Does this even fit and look good?? Then they have just the shift light, and that is considerably cheaper. How does that work? I'm guessing that it works with your existing tach right? The tach with light is running me about $185 where just the light is running me about $65. It says that it requires a RPM module. What is the purpose of that and how does it connect?
I basically want to get out with what would suit me better, price wise and accuracy wise. I'm also thinking about getting the smaller guauges for the pod, would these have anything to do with that extra module?
Shew, that's alot of questions.

there is her post...i dont have time to answer now but i will later if noone beats me to it.

Redshark, are you talking about the "shift light" in the one that tells you when you should shift gears? Or are you talking about something totally different?

I eat Honda Civics for breakfast, Toyota Corollas for lunch, and Volkswagen Jettas for dinner

I have the Phantom Autometer tach with a shift light, and you can dial the shift light at any desired rpm to turn on. In my opinion it looks nice at night in the car, but brings too much attention and I wish it was a tad smaller.. The Pro-Shift Light can be used independently without an Autometer tach, and those rpm module pill things are plugged in at pre-set increments instead of dialing in (not as precise, but does the job as well). It plugs into your rpm-out signal from your ECU wire. The smaller gauges built to replace A-pillars are for rpm, Air/fuel mix, exhaust gas temp, oil temp, fuel pressure etc... You decide what you want. Those gauges have nothing to do with the modules.

Awesome Thanks for the help. I was just a little confused on which to get (shift light or just the tach). I dunno, I'm kinda thinking that the tach w/ light when you have a tach in your dash is kinda eh..um...maybe a bit ricey. I like the way they look, they look pretty awesome, but the thing is, I have a tach already. If I didn't have one, I would buy it for sure, but I'm leaning more towards just the light now that I know they are compatible to my stock tach. Where would be the best place to mount the light

That seems really cheap for a tach and shift light. I bought one for one of my guys friends. He has a mustang it ran me a little over $200.00. Where do you find them so cheap?
