The reason I am doing it is
hmm well no one rides in my car os thats not it hehe but no seriously Im trying to mount(hehe I said mount) some 6 inch speakers on that backseat wall thing but I haveta take out the backseat to do it. I should be able to get it back in there but I need to take it out now to do the work I need to do <img src=/images/forums/snitz/finger.gif width=33 height=15 border=0>

It's only two bolts. And you have to pull those black tabs and the seat pops out.

Hi, I own a 96' Accent and I have all ready taken the back seats out. I put two Corbeau Racing seats up front. There are only a few bolts that need to be taken out. However, there is sound dampening underneath the seats, which doesn't look very attractive, it also adds a little bit of weight. So I used a putty knife to remove it all. Then I painted the rear hatch black. It looks alot better and weighs a lot less.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/eek.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Did anyone actually finish the back of the car? I've seen speaker box setups that did this, I took my back seats out and I'm considering just ditching the all together and cutting out a plywood platform thats carpeted with sound dampening underneath for ease of storage and transporting stuff

backseat, there's a plastic tab sticking out on the seat cushion in the rear, pull that out and the seat should come out, as for the backcusion, i think it's bolted to the frame of the car.

on the bottom theres 2 tabs in the front and 2 bolts on the bottom
on the top part theres 4 bolts that hold it down on the bottom

I took out the back seats & put down 1/4" plywood covered by 1/2" foam & some matching tan vinyl I found at a fabric shop.

I seldom have passengers but need to haul stuff around. Without back seat I can stuff a lot more in the back
