i think i read about some people having these put in...i wanna see pics...

i was gonna wait to get the 3rd gen, but i can't, so i'm gonna get a gen2 in about a month, and then get the 3rd gen next summer or so...

anyway, i figure to get the veilside kit about a year after i get the gen2, and i wanna do the targa top thing at the same time.

so i really wanna see pics of how it looks.

I helped RavDav with his Targa. Well...gave him instructions on how to do it basically. But if you plan on doing this...I would suggest taking it to a professional shop. Otherwise if you have the experience with cutting body parts, and installing custom moldings to make the targa roof fit back onto the car...then go for it. If you want the instructions on doing either a Targa Top, T-Tops, or Convertible Top...email me and I'll tell you what you have to do step by step. RavDav can help you as well with it. He's the only one with a Targo Tib now, but I've done this mod on many cars and trucks. Good luck!

go there, a directory of pics, look at like 10 f, yestibbyfinal

all my targa pics, some other fun pics in there for the hell of it, and yes, the chrome trim on the doors is gone now :)

you NEED to wrap your frame though. There will be lots of body twist if you don't. and... get used right now to people looking at you, because everyones heds will rubber neck at your car, and you think everyone in the world is looking at you, cuz they are :)

AND< don't do anything illegal in it, you'll have one of two cars like that, so, yeah, that would be a bad idea... i could just see it now... (calling 911) yes, david just robbed our store, he's in a red 2001 tiburon targa top, he lives at.... and his friends live at ... if you wanna go over and see if he's chillen over there

lol, yeah, need any help, let me know. i could not find ANY place that would do it proffesionally, since it has a subframe... blah blah

and don't count on having a warranty after you do it either :-(

wrd. that is super clean ravdav! anyway, i figure that in a city like Houston i'll find someone to do the work, but if not, my dad has a sawsall...j/k

if i can't find someone to handle it, i'll let ya know...i'm gonna want to know how to do it anyway cuz i already got a few of the more openminded kids around here interested in the tiburons as well...so after i do the targa, well, you know...

excuse me, what the hell is wrong with a saw zall?? cuz that is what I used :)

I looked all over SaltLake City and ogden, and everything, nothing here. So what car are you going to do the targa top on?? remember, get your frame wrapped, I would tell you to do that first, before you weaken the frame...

if u want a chop of a tuscani with the top, I'll see what I can do for you with a photochop, check back later tonight and I'll post one..

no i will not...j/k

ravdav...i want to do it for sure on the gen2 i don't have yet in about a year...when i plan on getting the veilside kit also...

so it'll be a year or so when i find a shop to chop it up...and you know i'll be all bragging on it on here...or if i can't find a shop to do it, i'll find another way.

cuz he's unique!! that is until you guys do it. I'd feel crappy, but then again, he could feel proud because he's the first tib ever (that we know of) that had this done to it. Go for it!

my car will always be unique. i love my car tons. i have a painted interior, that's nice and sharp, and I have a mesh over my guages, that I know of no other tiburon doing. I have had my targa done for a while, the one, the only anything that show theirs on the net. I finally found another "any car" that has done a targa top. Not the new, but the generation right before, a little eclipse, looks pretty nice hehe.

yeah, and i seriously used a saw sall :)

it was about the only thing we could use... and it worked fine, you gotta be careful not to dent the hell outta it, we dinged one side, but with it cut apart, it was easy to pop it right back out.

i just went and put my top back on, supposed to rain tomorrow, takes a good oh, 5 or 6 minutes to get it on. but yeah... i love having it off, and being a nice warm day and just driving. it's great, put on the sunglasses and go let people see your pretty car :) hehe

i've also got a tiburon banner across the windshield, like the extenders, same color as the body, and it just has tiburon, in the real lettering cut out... i don't know of anyone else that has it done like that... it took me forever to find and buy hehe, ended up getting it outta canada

well, the veilside kit with a targa top will surely be one of a kind too, plus i'm nowhere near you, and the cars won't look alike much anyway...
