i have a 98 hyundai elantra and i want to install a tech to do this i need to go threw my computer on my car dose any one here know where to connect the tech to the comp. i talk to a perfomance shop here im bakersfield ca. and they wanted $180 to install it for me but i only payed $100 for the tech and suggestions?

I suppose you're talking about a tach(ometer)?

It's pretty easy to install yourself. I'll hunt for the photo.

There is a giant wire harness coming out of the ECU. Believe it or not, out of all those wires, there is only ONE solid white wire. That is your tach signal wire. Then you can find somewhere to patch into 12v power and ground.

As you can see, I the wire tap (red plastic thing) is attached to a white wire coming out of the ECU. That's it!

Oh... beware... a lot of the other wires may look white. There is one that is white with a light pink stripe. It's easy to confuse the two! Needless to say, a good flashlight or lamp is required.
