Does anyone have actuall dyno proof that the elantra cams give a tiburon more power. I heard from my dealer that the tiburon cam is more agressive. I have a friend who put an tiburon cam into an elantra for more power. I need dyno proof before I believe this. Please if anyone has the factual proof please let us know. thanks

Red(I think) dynoed the Elantra 1.8L cam in his Tib and it made more hp. No one has dynoed the new 2001 Elantra cam yet but it has more lift & duration than EITHER cam. BTW I don't care what your dealer told you, the 2001 Elantra cam is the MOST aggressive stock cam followed by the 1.8L cam which IS more aggressive than the Tib.

Why is it more agressive, wouldn't they put the more agressive in the "sports car"?

I was trying to figure out why the 1.8 tib cam would gaive more hp to a 2000 tib,.. and I think it is because the cam for the 1.8 is morte aggrressive in order to make up for the lack of displacement?!? DOES this make sense?
Also, what about the 97 edition of the Tib that was lighter and had more hp, (153hp) I remmber hearing that it was this way because of its cams? Not the stock, but a very limited edition had different cams?
I wonder what this version of the Tib was called?

I just want proof before I go through the trouble of changing them to see if it's worth it. Also it's just the intake cam correct?

Actually, it's the limited edition R-Type Tib that's in Korea. And yes, you are reading that right...It's NOT Type-R..it's R-TYPE. And it has 153 HP because of a different exhaust, intake design, and the ECU is programmed differently.

I checked out the website for techniclas help for the cam issue. here are my results,.. and I am pretty sure these numbers are correct:
97 1.8L =44.449
2K 2L = 44.049
01 Elantr=44.820
These are stock measurements of the height on the cams. The elantra has the highest lift. But I still think that there is another cam. I wonder what the lift is like for the HVE and Catcams?
