It wouldn't work.

You have the wrong motor to begin with. Look at your motor and tell me if the intake is on the passenger side or the drivers side of your motor, and if possible, post a picture.

If you have a mitsu engine originally, you'll have to stick with a mitsu engine.

The only way he could swap a 2.0L Beta in is if he had a Hyundai motor originally.

The 4G63T would be a VERY good choice for a swap into an Excel.

Agreed. AWD would generally be a waste of money unless you wanted to use the car for rally or autocross.

Now that you put it that way, I would go for it. If you already have the AWD unit and the mechanic is only charging you that much for it.
