I would like to have nice sound from exhuast, but I don't have $400 to spend on full catback. So my only choice is to buy a muffler. I think I'm going to get 3A Racing muffler (they are pretty cheap, and heard that it produce nice sound).

OK. So here comes the famous(?) newbie question. Can you replace muffler in home without lifting up the car? And is there any need to buy special tool to install muffler?

Last question. If you go here,
http://www.ppsonline.net/Magnaflow.htm you can see list of mufflers. If you are in my situation, what model would you buy for Tiburon?

Thanx for help <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Unless the muffler is designed to fit on the Tiburon, you cannot do it yourself.

There is a exhaust joint just forward of the rear axle. If the muffler/exaust is designed for the tiburon, it will include pipeing and the proper bends/hangers to mount to this point.

If it is just a "universal" muffler, it will require cutting off the old muffler and welding the new muffler to the old exhaust, and fabrication of hangers to mount the new muffer.

Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.

I have AroSpeed and it has nice deep sound to it. I don't regret buying it.
Basically, you need to go to a muffler shop cuz it requires welding

I love my Tib

ok here ya go, you want a full cat back for under $400 right? Go to www.nopi.com and look up exhaust for your car. I think they have a full catback for a little under 200. Hope that Helps. I will be buying and welding a 5Zigen Fireball exhaust on. They HKS is a bit price for me though it is bolt on. Any other recomendations. For $300 You could have a glasspack direct replacement muffler from Airmass Thunder Muff. You just need to use the same hangars. 4 inch or 5 in tips available for just under $300, but the sound is the deepest and well worth it. If you want glasspack, go to your local AutoZone ask them about their Cherry Bomb muffler (behind the counter stuff) and they can hook you up with one for under $40, sounds real good and deep, but looks bad so you'd prolly want to get a tip welded on. Did this to my friend's 4cylinder Mustang, and now it sounds almost like a 5.0!!! Your's will be even better since you exhaust is less restrictive.
