I am not hatein on tiburons. Just found this humerous. I came up to a rudy yellow tiburon.. used car dealer tags on it. He has a freind in the car and when the other light turns yellow he starts rolling up. Im thinkin.. ok im gonna get spanked but lets see how fast these thigns really are. Green light, to my amazment i jump him off the line. His nose at my quater panel... its an automatic.. i nail 2nd, perfect shift and pull the accent in frount of him.. just after this he pulls into the turning lane still doing around 40 almost hits someone before he can slow down then pulls a Uturn.. i was gonna tell him about HP.com and all the other hyundai sites but he got upset and ran... o well.

Defenitely an automatic. The Tib/Elantra auto.'s are sluggish. I saw your 1/4 time and was like damn, I didn't know Accent's were that fast! Then I realized it was in Houston and was like whew. I pull low very low 17's at Banidmere (5,000) ft and would easily pull low 16's at Houston. These number's are for my stock exhaust, so with my new Cat-Back I should be able to shave a couple tenths off of my time. We'll have to go at it when I come down there. Hyundai v. Hyundai...racing...gotta love it.

It could have been a 5spd.
The 5spd Tib and 5spd accent are not that far off up to 30-40mph that coupled with a possibe bad driver in the Tib could mean an accent could beat a Tib in a race.

Believe me I have had both now and when I had the Tib and was following my bows accent in Ga I had to gass it to keep up. I was quite supprised. After 30-40mph though you have us for sure.

I agree with you zeek, even though they do have abit of torque I would recommend Manual all the way for any hyundai.

Funny race story, probably
an auto though or inexperienced driver. I always say, don't assume anything about the other driver,
he/she can be as big a factor as the car itself in a race...you can be surprised either way depending on the skill of the other guy.
