I guess we finally settle the huge argument about the 2003 tib being slow <img src=/images/forums/snitz/smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Now all you people who said it was slow can shutup! <img src=/images/forums/snitz/approve.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

"We took it to our favorite mountain road with another Eight Great contestant for a head-to-head battle. The winner would make the list.

And the Hyundai, after only a few minutes of flogging, was the clear victor.

With massive grip, thanks to its sticky 215/45ZR-17 Michelin Pilot Sport tires and very little body roll, the Hyundai's composure was as impressive as it was unexpected. The harder we drove the Tiburon, the more Hyundai's performance goals became obvious. It's good at going quickly. Blast into a corner with way too much speed? Nothing a little trim with the brakes mid-corner won't cure. The Tiburon's response to trail braking and/or left foot braking stands out as one of its finer handling points. Handling is also characterized by heavy damping, which results in very well-controlled body movement and excellent stability over uneven roads and at high speed."

About GT-S being slow is due to glitch in ECU not allowing rpm to go beyond 6800rpm.

If you read the article The celica is actually quite faster but it had computer problems, be fair in your story. The celica does not do a 0- 60 time of 8.2. Race one you'll find out. I have driven one and there quick.

Where do you get $10,000 from? The base Tib?
The US GT they have there is pretty close to the Canadian GS-R, with an MSRP of $28,795, while the MSRP on the Type-S is $31,000, not $39,000. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/uhh.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Will intake/headers and exhaust really shave at LEAST 0.6 seconds off the 1/4 mile <img src=/images/forums/snitz/uhh.gif width=15 height=15 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/uhh.gif width=15 height=15 border=0> I don't think so.

Talk about making it a difficult decision now<img src=/images/forums/snitz/cry.gif width=16 height=16 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/cry.gif width=16 height=16 border=0> cause I well I think these numbers are gonna be pretty darn accurate cause its done by the same people etc. Except well the GT-S

From the dyno sheet they posted I believe there was a problem with their Tib they tested too. The torque dropped off waaaaaay too much after about 4500RPM.

The torque dropping off is probably because it reached its max torque at 4500 rpm, like most cars.

Well I must say I really like the comments about the handling. I'm not a stoplight racer anyway. I haven't autocrossed it yet but I can already tell that it handles very well. I may actually have to buy that issue!

(side skirts and every little thing they listed up on their web site..) and PDI cost more <img src=/images/forums/snitz/smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0> but again.. why should i get RSX type S? I just hate the exterior...<img src=/images/forums/snitz/guns.gif width=33 height=16 border=0>

This is not how I view it, this is how other will view it
the tib a v6 and the rest are 4 banging rice burners. so they would consider the tib slow, for the fact it cannot even beat the 4 bangers without v6 power. and other v6s walk over it.

again, not my view, just would be how the stang and muscle car owners would see it.

But Shadohh, they would also need to take that same view point and see how much more potential an untapped V6 has over the highstrung RSX and GT-S engines.

Don't you mean thats how I4 owners will view it? Cause the Tiburon keeps up and beats the stand and muscle car V6's <img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

I would have loved to have seen a Tiburon with a 200hp 2.7L similar to VW's new engine or maybe the 3.5L 240-255hp found in the Altima or Maxima. Then you guys will be whining 'the car costs too much I could just buy a GT-S or Type-S and put aftermarket into it blah blah blah'.

But all that would be in a perfect world. One that would be filled with chocolate covered streets and candy covered sidewalks. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/finger.gif width=33 height=15 border=0><img src=/images/forums/snitz/finger.gif width=33 height=15 border=0>
