I bought my tiburon used for a good price and love it... but I want to upgrade the sound system with an amp etc. which requires me to get a new HU to replace the H855 HU currently in there (I don't want to use the adapter because that makes it sound like crap) so basically this is my dilemma:

The unit that is in the car now is a cd/tape deck that is large with rounded edges, I know it can be replaced but can I get any head unit to replace it? Do I need a special head unit or are there fillers or something and can it be done fairly easily by yourself because I would rather not pay to much for someone else to do it.

you have a 2 din hu. you can try to find a 2 din or get the O.E. 1 din mounting kit

Thanks for the response... if I buy this (http://www.installer-data.com/item/display_item.php?it=bkhynk1416) mounting kit I could get a normal 1 din head unit and install it into there? This adapter looks about right for the head unit already in the car but I'm not sure... its not exactly the most informational web site, thanks again

cant really see the first, but the second will work for sure. you might have a little gap with a hu in there, but it will work near-perfect for the most part.

thank you, one more question... if this is a standard 2 din player does that mean that this (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4043_152869141,00.html) head unit should work without any installation kits... if I decided I wanted a tape player...
