P.S. you should post some of the pics, I know you have the link to the page, but should post some of them and the link to the page of pics... and any dyno sheets UFB may have, just cause you know you'll get that question...

Is it just for Tiburons or it will fit on 2001-2002 Elantra? If not, why? New Elantra engine is Beta too. Another question: what is approximate shipping cost to Virginia 22204 by UPS Ground or smth cheaper.
Also, if I remember correctly, price estimates were much lower (by atleast $500). Is transportation from South Africa so expensive?

It won't fit the 2001 Elantra. This is designed for a Tiburon, so the intercooler piping would be wrong. Also, the bolt pattern for the turbo manifold won't work on then Beta II engine. Also the 2001 Elantra is MAP based so once again the intercooler piping wouldn't work.

UFB will post a link to the pics later.

Agarwal, the pricing already includes shipping from South Africa to me. From there, it will vary to you guys. We will be using UPS Ground.

viper966, the prices are the final prices. After the intro special, however, the free boost kit and brakes will cost money. We figured it would be better to throw in a bonus rather than lower the prices.

naces186, yes it will work for an auto.

Blue GT, I'll look into it. All it would really involve is a little bit different intercooler piping and and a different exhaust manifold which shouldn't be too hard.

naces186, one thing is that this turbo will work for an Auto, however you will need to work on your tranny a little. For those HP #'s your tranny will need a little beefing up.

For the first initial purchase we're doing a group buy. After that you can buy them individually.

I recommend purchasing it during the group buy though as we are giving away free upgrades.

The rods are fine up to 300hp, which is more than what the kit comes preprogrammed for, so no, it doesn't come with rods.

As for injectors, UFB should address this.

The way we ship it, the stage 1 will be good for about 230whp (at 10psi) and the stage 2 will be good for about 270whp (at 10psi). They both have EXTREME potential with further upgrades.

Hi all,

Sorry to join the party so late :) OK here's some more info for you all.

Pics - there are about 40 pics of the Tiburon Turbo components and development tests we have done, including the broken pistons and Gears done purposely during the design testing to learn about the AWESOME J2 Beta engines!! So Please visit the link where the photo's are. http://communities.msn.com/HyundaiTiburon/tiburonturboblackmonster.msnw

The only difference in the pictures you will see there and the Stage 2 Kit is the Air filter will be located under the hood and not in the fender and the windscreen washer bottle left in place. My personal tibby runs a rather wild turbocharger and needed many other mods to get her where she is now - but otherwise all the other components are 100% the same and the chage piping is the same except for the 76mm intake pipe running from inside the fender(where the A/filter is located) into the turbo's compressor housing.

Rob is correct, the Elantra's intercooler routing will be different but the engine is the same! The turbo placement and manifold etc will more than likely be the same... the only way we can provide you with a concrete answer is if we actually turbocharge one of these cars. If the demand is large enough, we will look at duplicating the Tiburon kit for the Elantra body.

Regarding shipping - the kits prices include shipping from South Africa to the USA - destination Hyundai Performance. All shipping from Hyundai Performance will need to be covered by yourselves. But for $3600.00 and $4000.00 forthe stage1 and stage2 kits respectively you will recieve the kits in the USA at the doorstep of HP.com's premises! (not bad huh? :) )

The prices will NOT go up unlesws we include other components like upgraded rods and double strength gears to replace the existing ones in the tranny, we are working on these issues already and will more than likely launch a complete gearbox internal replacement with a longer ration 5th gear good for about 270km/h in the next few months - sit tight for now though.

Automatic trannies - yup it certainly will workfor you. BUT you will need to upgrade your torque converter - Rob mentioned something about a partnership with Level Ten - Rob please comment.

Purchases can be made any time you want and does not have to be through a group buy, BUT as Rob mentioned, using this opportunity the get the brake upgrade and/or the Dual Boost control system for free, we suggest you move now as the limited time offer will not last much longer than a month or so depending on the demand!

OK regarding the larger injectors - our kit does not include larger injectors as these little components are as scarse as Chickens teeth in S.A and cost a FORTUNE if you can find any (most people use second hand RX7 rotary turbo injectors - 550cc) For the Stage 2 kit we recommend nothing smaller than 440cc injectors that will be more than able to provide power even at increased boost levels.

Regarding Con-Rods, our kits will not break Con-Rods even at increased boost pressures! The only thing that usually breaks a Con-Rod is high RPM, our engine maps do not rev past the factory standard 6600RPM limit and if this is increased, we do not recommend more than 6800RPM for safe and reliable use! Here's my proof - we tested my Tiburon Turbo engine on a dyno at 5000RPM (maximum torque at this RPM) at 0.5bar boost at which we produced 192KW constantly till engine temps reached 100 degree's Plus and then allowed the engine to idle until temps got to 88 degrees and then ran the engine at 5000RPM again continuously for an hour and a half and nothing broke, we then drained G/box oil and after another 20 minutes of this abuse the 4th gear melted down, pics can be seen on the link above! BTW - the gear did not break from the added power, instead it gave up because of lack of lubrication!

So rest assured that your Con-rods are SAFE with our engine maps!
