Just to explain the turbo timer.
Its not an absolute must, but some people find it useful.
The purpose of the timer is that when you park up the timer allows the turbine to gradually slow down after the engine has been switched off. This helps to preserve the longevity of it.
Turning the engine off after the turbo is spooled up doesn't do it much good. Alternatively, when you park you can sit in the car for 30-50secs with the engine idling to achieve the same effect.
