I'm wanting to hook up an intercooled turbo setup. my hp goal is set at 300hp right now. im wanting to go with a turbo, but im unsure as to what everything is going to cost. parts and labor. I'm in Texas, if anyone around here, or even the next few states over can help me out with some sort of package deal on labor/turbo kit that'd be cool, if not, general pricing would be cool. I'm wanting to have a boost controller, and gauges (boost, a/f, ect.... ) what are my options, and what kind of cash am i looking at spending? i know HKS Korea, and Alpine developments all have kits.. but i can't read korean (at all) and i was told the alpine set up yields around 240hp.. just let me know!

We'll be offering a turbo kit soon. Look around this forum and the Tiburon forum for more details on it.

To further 4DoorGL's comments, this kit will include EVERYTHING you require and more like the Clutch upgrade, and option for brake upgrade too. The Stage 2 T3/T4 hybrid kit is a 300HP kit and will be able to produce more than this on racing fuel and a higher boost setting

The cost for this kit is $4000.00 retail! There will also be an introductory offer when this goes on sale in the US at around the beginning of February 2002.

Read the other posts here for a complete list of all the parts included in this kit.

the alpine kit , is a big lie it gives you more power but not even close to 240, i was going to buy one untill i talked to random.

Just to clairfy this post. The Alpine kit has the POTENTIAL to deliver 300 HP. However, as purchased and installed by them, it only made 169 HP, even though they claim 240.

There is MUCH more you would have to do to this kit and your engine to reach that HP level(300). Do not think of the alpine as a turbo kit, think of it as a "starter" kit.

Random, thanks for clearing all of that up. It is going to take me a little while to save up that much, but i like to 'buy once, buy right' ya know? what would installation cost me on something like that? is most of it DIY work? i have access to a shop... and my best friend is a welder.... how long could this take with 3-4 people on it? could it be done in a week or so? is there anything i really need to watch out for?

The kit comes with VERY detailed instructions and it is possible to install it by yourself if you have just a bit of mechanical know-how. Although, with your welder friend you should be able to tackle it in no time.

4DoorGL is right, the kit is a DIY bolt on design except for a few little odds and ends like the oil return back into the sump which your welding facilities will be able to help you with, and the exhaust pipe which will need to be made up locally, although the kit does include the Downpipe!

With three peopl on this kit as a first timer, it should take yuo about 2 - 3 days if there is not confusion! We are able to install a kit from scratch with two people working on it in just under a day - then again we know these cars backwards
