ok, since FXTREME moderators are being all gay and closing my topic, i'm going to post it over here.
I was thinking of buying Turbo from wrecked cars(copart) and installing it on my tib(prefferably Eclipse), but what else do I need to do?, change header? drill a hole? or what?
damn I have no clue what so ever!!!
oh yeah how about someone tell me first where the turbo exactly go? i've never gotten clear answer of that from people

Check out ebay. I was on there yesterday and there was somebody selling a T25 turbo and an intercooler. I think it was only at $300 or so.

As for a turbo how-to, here ya go: http://www.quancon.com/~gdrane/turbosys.html. Everything you need to know about turboes. If you have any more questions, just ask <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>.

You want a turbo, well here's the dealio, first, you need a new manifold, then the turbo, intercooler, intake pipes, new fuel pump, new injectors, BOV, turbo timer, boost controller ( our ecu can't time or control boost )I'd sugjest an oil cooler and to build the bottom end with new pistons and rods, then install it all. your best bet is to get an Alpine kit, Speedstate will have a bolt on soon. The reasons the moderators at fxtreme close the topic is this has been posted a few times, most ppl have no idea what is involved with a turbo nor the cost. Also DON't pick up a cheap turbo and try it, it's alot of work.

Unless you want to blow your engine thats a good idea.
I don't know how much I can stress this but this is your car. DON'T BE CHEAP! There are a few things here or their you can skimp on but when it comes to performance mods you realy can't. If you can't affor to do it right then don't do it until you can. It doesn't matter how good it looks or what your track time was if after you run it your car breaks and you have to tow it home.

yeah in fxtreme they have talked turbo so much over there that its ridiculous. im getting a turbo made for my car, well really its already made im just waiting for the piping cause i have a front mount intercooler. just go to ebay and get what ever you need. they have remanufactured turbos over there with warrentys and stuff. or just call Onpol and he can square you away like me.
hes doing my manifold and everything. but you can put together a turbo kit or wait until Random and the other guys get dynoed and everything and buy Alpines stuff. but if you want one now holla at me and ill tell you where to go and what you need.

Hey yo, I don't see the deal with the turbos either. They don't start making their power until you get up late in the 3 grand area. So your car feels no different until you get to 3500 +/- rpm. Then you would need a 40-60hp nitrous system to compensate for the turbo lag. The best route in my opinion is to go for a supercharger. They are relatively inexpensive and a hell of a lot easier to install and start pushing their boost in the 1500 rpm area. You can see for yourself by going to www.capa.com.au and check out what they have to offer. I want to see more blown hyundais!

you dont need NOS to compensate for the turbo lag?? if you get yourself a nice T25 you will be fine or better a nice 14b. now when you get to turbochargers like 18 or 20g then you need to make something happen but with t25 youll be fine.
now a supercharger to me sucks. thats just my opinion(no flame) i mean your HP is limited with a SC and then when you do want to change or boost you have to do all this crap just to get to the pully and then take it off and put thenew one on.

Nothing in this world that is worthwhile is easy my friend. I have several friends that have gone both routes and in the end the blown car is always faster because it has a better bottom end. It doesn't matter what kind of turbo you have it still doesnt start makeing its power until higher rpms, thats just the principle of it. Oh well different opinions but the same goals. Showin off Hyundais beautiful ass to Hondas!

In addition to reading up on turbos like 4doorGL mentioned (the link he posted kicks) you can follow some of the existing turbo projects for a while.

A long time ago Onpol did a turbo on FxTreme.. here's a link to one of the initial posts, you might be able to ferret out more info on his experiences too
http://www.fxtreme.org/Ultimate/NonCGI/Forum13/HTML/000476.html

Then there's Mario on TeamSR, currently has a modified Alpine to fit his US spec tib.. in the near future he's going to turn the boost up and that should be interesting to follow too:
http://www.teamsr.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=16

Also I think RavDav is going to guinea pig Alpine's US spec turbo very very soon so that would be a good place to watch

And Speedstate is developing a turbo kit so keep an eye on their site for any info.. it would be GREAT if they did a technical write up showing the design/learning process.. but business being business we'd probably have to settle for install photos etc once its ready.

Who else is currently working with turbo? I know Red is but thats a little more heavy duty to get into since its a very custom setup.. I'm sure he'll be a wealth of information once its done though.

i'd like to put a turbo on my 1.5L 95 accent.... however, i might swap tht engine with a '97 tib 2.0L engine... would i beable to put a turbo on either of those engines? and where can someone answer some questions about turbos. i want to know alot about em and what to look for before i put one in my car, cause its my baby.

p.s. Definatly show the back end of a hyundai to hondas, my friend thinks hyundai's suck, but they have way better features then hondas. and they are prettier<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

You can fit the 2.0L engine in an accent, as that has been done before, but I'm not to sure about fitting a tubo in there as well. I think you would run out of room in the engine bay to fit the turbo manifold and plumbing. You could probably fit a supercharger in there though...they don't take up any more space that the stock setup.

Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.

Thats what I actually plan to do. Originally I was going to Turbo or Supercharge my 1.5 but the more I look at it numbers win and I think I am going to do the 2.0 Transplant and supercharge it.

To fit a turbo onto a 2.0L Beta in an Accent you'll have to move the fan to the front of the radiator.

But a turbo will fit? Excellent! I didn't want to spend 2G on a kit to find out I had a fender in the way.

ok, tell me every single TURBO or SUPERCHARGER there is for the Tibs and their specs and reliability and such. I want to get it so bad...it's either that or $500 Club GTR's Body Kit :)

I love my Tib

If I could tell you every turbo or supercharger it would be one of the longest post ever, but I do have a couple sites that I will post up that can tell you what you need to know. It is very time consuming when you start getting into projects like this, so you gotta have paitence for it. as far as the reliablity of everything that plays on how much boost you run the fuel system and etc...

As soon as I find the site in my favs i'll post them up for you and let you choose what you want. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
