god damn 130hp?? thats underpowered. also i see they've adapted the gt and gts titles.

also 175 seems slow for the looks, that is barely going to run with gsr's.

Nah, it'll smoke the GS-Rs cause it has about 180 lb-ft of torque. That's abut 45 more than the Type R even.

I think Hyundai really needs to put something like a 225 HP engine in the Elisa to make go as fast as it looks and maybe that might give them more respect with alot of people who still think Hyundai's are a POS.

Yeah what needs to be remembered is that alls these VTEC engines can have high horsepower, but with the torque that the New Tib will put out will eith match or beat them!

Question for ya. Hyudai's site has both the GT and the GTS listed as 2.0L, but, since I can't read Korean worth a damn, can't read any specs anywhere. So what's the story?

well....there are three models in korea, gt, gts, and elisa. The Tiburon GT V6 that we will be getting (US version), is the same thing as the Elisa model in Korea. The tiburon 4 cyl. (US version) will , I think be the same as the Gts model in Korea. So we would be getting the 2.0L Gts, and the 2.7L Elisa.

As I read through specs in Korea, there's no engine difference between GT and GTS. European version does though..

You're correct... There is no 1.8 for the Tuscani, only the 2.0 and 2.7 (Sorry, Rob... :))

The GT and GTS are just different trim levels, with the basically the same specs, performance-wise.

The 2.0 is rated at 138 net HP, and the 2.7 at 175 net....

even with 175hp and 180ft/lbs....it may not take GS-R's. It will have a redline of 6500 or lower...and a GS-R can take advantage of its 8000 rpm redline and pull longer in each gear. If memory serves, a stock gsr will run around 15.6 or so with a pretty good driver. if the new tuscani will pull that off, i'll be happy!

What is frustrating is that the Delta [email protected]+HP is putting out the same as or less than a Japanese 4-cylinder...and with the Tibby's added weight whatever tourque advantage the Tibby might have already fades as quickly as you will fade in that Type-R Integra's rear view mirror...

Say,do you guys think that Hyundai Motor will one day have the guts to enter the JGTC...?That should be good for a laugh...

But if you've ever driven a high-revving Honda engine, you'll notice that it sucks for driving in traffic.

I hate driving the Del Sol normally because of its lack of torque. Sure its fast as hell when it accelerates, but how often do you accelerate hard vs. driving it normally?
