Aight I have a question for the accent owners here, Melissa, drives a 1997 accent automatic, stock for now. And its there weirdest thing, I would slam on the gass the car would hesitate then finally start to pull, like a 2 second delay, so I was like ok, this is weird, So then I try using my old 240sx shifting method. 1,2,then D. This method was a bit more effective, but I still had to push the petal all the way down to get the car to go. I mean sh!t my car you tap the gas and your killin fools. Is this natural, the car is a very fun ride, but is it suppost to be hesitant like this?

hey i have a 98 with an automatic, the automatic for the accents is sluggish,its not ment for the heavy duty racing and doesnt have the like heavvy duty parts as like for an example a firebird trans am ram air for instance, but anyways i use the 1.2.d, method and overdrive off button when im in a racey type mood or just flat plain in a hurry, but i went to get my oil changed the other day and the black dude check my oil..duh... then he checked my transmission fluid and said the color of the fluid looks bad,well not that bad but anyways, he said in words...this color dont look too good then thier waz a .5 sec. pause and he said you been racin lately and i said well off and on why, he said cause your fluid looks bad, and he said you'll need to take it to the dealer to get it changed and i said oky dokey. but my tranny, when i go from park-to drive and when its in drive it takes about two seconds to finnally kick in and sometimes from going from rev. to drive in wont even go in drive, cause of the 1,2,d methond and using that to downshift, hardly downshift into 1 till im stopped, but my fluid is bad from using that method so if she or you is going to use that then i would say dont use it all the time, just for racing or somethin, i use it to pass people and sometimes or always in the city cause its stop and go traffic and i need to get up and go and not have to punch it just to kick in another gear cause mainly like you said it pauses so thats why i mainly use that method, my next car will be a manual, automatics suck on underpowered cars, the ford lightning is awsome with automatic but im dealing with an accent ,so dont use 1-2-d all the time. or maybe big bucks might be coming out of someones ''bill fold'' <img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Damn, ever hear of paragraphs?

The 1-2-d shifting is a great way to a$$ rape the tranny.

The problem most likely is the fuel filter, it always seems to be the culprit of poor performance.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

I have a 97 GT auto...
Sometimes when I floor it even when in first, it takes a micro second to get power out (not much though). Mostly I don't drive like that, and the power (hehe... power) is pretty even.

I guess some maintenence like cleaning the TB or getting new sparks and other good stuff will help.

For now, I just pretend that its just turbo lag... lol but no turbo. hahahahaha j/k <img src=/images/forums/snitz/wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

thats some funny shiznit, as for the paragraph remark.

Im waznt writing that stuff for a grade or anything so wuts the point, it may be hard to read sometimes, if its hard to read then dont read it, kinda like a person saying to the doctor, ''doc....., my arm hurts when i do this,, doc says well dont do that".<img src=/images/forums/snitz/moon.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>j/k, trying to go to bed its 3 10 in the AM, and i have to work at 9 so i will be a bear tommorrow so peace out to all my niggaz.

#2 I have to agree your 1st post was a lil long and tough to read. Please break them up into paragraphs.

I don't usually rag on peoples grammer but it is difficult to read and telling us not to read it is no good since you might have some info we need.

Thanks skeird, I'll have her check that, Automatics kinda suck eh? That was my first time driving a Hyundai auto.

I knew someone with a 2000 GL auto.. even when driveing normally the engine would rev to about 4k then shift.. do they all do that?
