depends what kind of mods they are... i know with other companies like vw some dealers will let or help you do mods and will still honor the warrenty while others won't... and knowing hyundai they are a bunch of bastards, well at least the tech guys don't hold your breath... they had a **** fit for me installing a sway bar in my 1998 leased elentra... but if you ask me the damn car should have came with one

Warrenty suppose to be from manufacture not dealer, so is voiding the warrenty is a call from the dealer or the manufacture?

The warranty comes from the manufacturer (Hyundai), but they delegate the dealerships to determine which repairs should happen under warranty and which don't.

If the modification you made has nothing to do with the problem you're going in for warranty work on, then you're in the clear. If I've put on a CAI and my transmission goes out, I'm good. BUT, if the modification you made is related to the component in trouble, then you might have some problems. If I've put in a short-shifter and my transmission goes out, . But, since the call is initially made by the dealer service department, it's not always going to be the same story from place to place. Call around (anonymously) to service departments of different dealers in your area, and figure out which places are cool with mods and which ones aren't.

do you guys think that if you have the dealership put them in you will have a better chance of them not voiding the warranty as much. Just a question that might help people

I think you should check with your dealership. I had them order a CAI, they also offered to put a catback on my Tib. They also aligned my UR crank pulley. I have a good dealership. So, don't forget,..it is often the dealers call,.. not always the manufacter
