Just wanted to know how your experience has been with warranty coverage on these cars. Only asking 'cause I'm driving a 97 Mustang GT now and the warranty coverage sucked. Don't want to have to go through that again.

Thanks

I killed my auto tranny 3 times, the warranty covers it, but unfortunately i voided the warranty when i blew the engine about a year ago messing around with the car. The warranty is good, just don't do anything to void it.

Since i have an automatic, i street raced alot and switch the gears on the auto. That is basically what did it for me. I am a little more careful until february when i do a tranny swap for a 5-speed tranny. My brother had my car for a year and he did something to it b/c he liked doing mechanical and performance stuff to it, but custom, not buying parts for it. I don't even know,as long as i got a new put in i was more than happy top drive it again.

Damn straight. There are two warranties- a 60k and a 100k. The 60k warranty covers everything except consumables such as brake shoes, struts, etc. The 100k warranty is only for the tranny and the main body of the engine. Not the sensors, not the A/C, radiator, steering gear and whatnot. In fact, I believe the engine part of the warranty only covers the block and the head and the moving parts contained within. If anything else goes south, it comes out of your pocket. Which is why I need to learn how to muck about under the hood myself, as my 60K warranty is geting ready to turn into a pumpkin. The warranty doens't cover routine maintenance either, so expect to pay about $400.00 or so at 60K for a timing belt (rice buring P.O.S., why couldn't they put a timing chain in the engine? ). We even have to repalce the bleeding tensioner, although the H2O pump is not necessarily disposable during the procedure. Anybody know if the Beta is a zero clearance engine? I don't want to have to untangle my valves if the belt breaks before I get the $ to change it.

I've noticed lots of talk about exahust systems and air cleaners. Now I had a 93 grand prix and bought a K*N for it and the directions read that unless the manufature provides a free filter that installing a K*N filter charger can not void the warranty. Is this true with the 01 Elantra GLS also what about the exauhust is any mods to that voiding the warranty. What about puting a 12 disk changer and 2 12" subs = 120watts void the warranty. what about the lights too. Just wondering. I bought the car for the warranty and dont have the money to repair stuff.
