Turbo, exhaust, lots of stuff.

How much do you want to spend and how fast do you want to go?

For the money, and for starters, most people put on an intake/exhaust/header.

You already have the intake, so next I would recommend an exhaust. Next I would look into headers, then possibly a BBTB/BIM.

If you want a big diffrance. Get a turbo. From what i hear its about 2000 for a kit if they make a kit for that engine. Maybe an S-coupe turbo? I dunno if there diffrent engines. If you want cheap upgrade for the body.. go get some gutter gaurd from Wal-Mart and 3M tap. OS told me about that.. it was cheap and looks great. I painted my mesh blue to match my rims. BTW welcome to the site.

well if you want high numbers you are going to have to spend high bucks, its the law of modding. a turbo properly tuned and installed will be about 3-4 grand easy, maybe more. you can get headers from www.sharkracing.com, intake from kore motorsports available in the kore forum on this site, and exhaust also available through kore soon on this site. also for exhaust you can get a muffler and get a 2 1/4" pipe bent custom at a shop.

another option would be nitrous. 50-55 shot is ideal for our engines. look it up on www.zex.com nosnitrous.com and nitrousexpress.com those are your best bets.

any other questions and we can help, but there really isn't anything cheap that will get you the big numbers you expect.

dont buy headers, put that 400 bucks to the greddy t3/y4 hybrid turbo or a good intercooler, or get a manifold machined

or as rudy said, nitrous

Man; didn't anyone listen to the man? He said that he didn't have a lot of cash. I guess I'll help him out here. Like the one huy said, if you allready have the intake, fork out a little and get the headers, you can get them at www.sharkracing.com. You should also get the cat-back exhaust. Many places can customize an exhaust for your car. For the love of god, don't go any more than 2 1/4 inch on your exhaust cause you'll lose power!Shark Racing also has Big Bore Throttle Bodies (BBTB) for your car. Those few mods are probably the cheapest you're going to find right now. They are stlii going to cost you a little bit of money. Good luck!

Na your wrong I have a 2.5 inch exhaust and all it did was change the power curve to more down low response and better than stock performance of about 4kw or so but the top end suffers with the 1.5litre alpha twincam engine slowing at 140km or so as where the old stocker exhaust didn't give as much power but had more back pressure and let it easily go off the clock with an open none towny road and no other mods done so it depends wheather you want it to pull away in town or out. Dont forget you need a 2.5 exhaust if you turbo it later or supercharge it. An exhaust place should be able to do a custom job to do what ever you have in mind. By the way forget the extractors unless the heads worked the bonuses on top of the exhaust will be minimal only it will run cooler and better throttle response.

if you plan on turboing it later then wait til later to get the 2.5" exhaust. if you are running naturally aspirated right now then get 2.25. if you go any bigger you will lose back pressure and that is the last thing you want to do on these small engines. its not good for them at all. just stick with 2.25, especially if your budget doesn't see a turbo anytime soon.

why is that the last thing you want to do. My exhaust 2.5 inch still has plenty of back pressure because of the resonator and muffler setup but yes i'd go with 2 and a bit exhaust if i where you but as I said the muffler places will be able to set up a custom exhaust with a nice sound for not that much money.

Loud what we know as the excels here in the states have a DSM motors so the parts will not be interchangeable. You guys kept the excel name a few years longer than we did. What you guys call a late model excel is an accent for us.
