What is the point at this stage of the game of Hyundai leaving the old bodystyle Tiburon on the hyundaiusa.com site? I mean they have the special 2003tiburon.com site up, my dealer has dick all old tiburons left on the lot, they've sold the old stock for the most part. Why not put the full fledged info up on the main site. It seems stupid they have this whole special preview site up but then you still have the old (no offense) bodged up integra headlight tiburon on the main site. Any other automaker would have had info on the main site long ago to build up interest. Toyota has had info about the Matrix on their site for ages. Hyundai kind of has their head up their asses when it comes to introducing new models imho! So they don't have them on the lot yet, I'm sure that Hyundai dealers would **** themselves if they had a bunch of people coming into the dealerships wanting info on new Hyundai's. It would give the slimey salesmen a wet dream knowing there were that many people interested in dropping 19 grand on a new car. They need to pimp it out much more ahead of time than they have.

I totally agree with you......... are they afraid that they will loose sales momentum on their current models?

From what I hear, the '03 tiburon is a real let down. I know someone that drove it, and said there is no acceleration difference between the current Tib and the V6 '03. What a waste. Let's stay optomistic and see what the car magazines have to say.

Well, I wouldn't expect it to be that much faster. It's basically the Sante Fe engine, right? The real tragedy is that it sounds like it can't handle boost as well as te Beta. Time will tell I guess.

I'd have to disagree only because the service technician at my dealer drove one when Hyundai was training him how to service them, and he said it is much faster than the previous Tiburons. He also said, "Why are you wasting money on that one, just wait until the new one comes out. It is much faster." So we shall see I guess.

The 03s are soooooo pretty in person, though.

You can't just put the two engines side by side and compare them. You have to look at the weight to power ratios. The new tib is based on the Sonata platform, so right there is a ton of extra steel. Our current tibs are only about 2600 pounds, a little on the heavy side...so...if the new tib is anymore heavy than the current one, it negates the extra ponies of the new model. If the car is over 3000 pounds...nothing is gonna help it, save a turbo...and the buzz about these engines being turbo hasn't been too good. I am not really knocking the '03 yet...just that everyone seems a little over-optomistic...especially with that Tib vs. RSX rumor...sheesh
