I want to make my car a bit quicker, but I dont want to loose my warranty. Other than a filter, what kind of mods can I do w/out voiding the warranty? I want to be able to have a better reaction when I take off from a light. I hate it when I get beat by Civics because they are manual. The car does a damn good job of keeping up, though.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>

You CAN change the air filter, exhaust and not void the warranty. The dealer would need to PROVE that the mod you did caused something to fail.

Federal law prohibits manufacturers from refusing to honor warranties because of the use of aftermarket parts.) However, if a non-factory part is ever proven in a court-of-law to be the cause of a defect in question, then the factory warranty will not cover that particular defect.

If the vehicle manufacturer fails to honor emission/warranty claims, contact the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at 202-233-9040. If federal warranty protection is denied, call the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at 202-326-3128.
