So Accent owners...what mods is everyone running on what engine, and what kind of 1/4 mile times are you pulling???

I dunno if this is the actually defenition but .. when you punch it there is a delay in when your foot hits the floor and when the engine responds... trottle responce. I don't think that will make a BIG diff in 1/4 mile times... i manly feel it when "passing" on the highway or at highway speeds in a downshift.

16.96 @ 80.74mph, 1.6L DOHC, 2001 accent GS, only mod is a custom intake.

Ran a 17.2 with a bent rim, bored out stock throttle body, mandrel bent 2.25 exhaust piping from the second o2 sensor back, Suppertrapp muffler, custom short ram CAI.

Just that stuff made you 2 seconds faster(5spd) or 3seconds faster(auto).. [email protected] i need to do some of that to mine <img src=/images/forums/snitz/cool.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

hm, "extractors, headwork and valve job" ..what exactly does all that constitute? ie, what do u do, where do u get the parts can u do it/pay some shop, and $$$ ive got a catback, am going to get a tib tb (and shifter, hopefully) and would like to replace my cai with kore's... now i just wondering about that other stuff!

edit: ohhh wait..u non-american guys call headers 'extractors' don't ya?...i forgot

I had to have some custom fabrication done to the flange on the intake to fit the Tib tb. Bling Bling. Most of my stuff is custom. I had the head work done at a machine shop in Toronto...Leitner & Bush...
I am kind of disappointed with the time...but for a SOHC I guess it's not bad. The engine is built mainly for top end, which is why I can smoke Tibs and many V6's on the Hwy. Pulls great.
I was on my way into Toronto one day and some guy and his girlfriend were in they're tib. Guy looks over at my car and laughs drops into 4th and punches it. I drop it into 4th and punch it too. He pulls on me a bit at first due to the fact he has better torque, hit fth and I pull up beside him and keep going. I slowed down afterward and let him get beside me. Dude was looking at me like "WTF?" I just laughed and took off.
