Well the time has come for me to do some engine mods to my 2K Accent. I am open to suggestions as far as what is the first thing to do. I know a lot of you have mentioned that a CAI is the best first mod to do.

Also I was wondering, if I were to get new headers would it be easier to redo the exhaust system at the same time?

If I did go with the CAI which I am leaning towards (heads up KORE) are they fairly simple to put on? Or should I take it somewhere to be installed?

I'd recommend getting a KORE CAI. They are dyno proven (for the Tib) and are fairly easy to install.

You live in Washington, right? I'd recommend getting the bypass valve.

The bypass valve sits somewhere in the intake piping far enough off of the ground where it won't get wet. Now if you go through a huge puddle where the intake gets submerged under water, it will cause a pressure change in the intake due to it not being able to suck up any air. Without the bypass valve the engine will proceed to suck up the water and end up blowing a rod, bending a valve, or breaking a piston. None of those are very good. With the bypass valve installed, the pressure change causes the flaps (often red in color) on the bypass valve to open up, allowing air to enter your engine even thought he intake can be completely under water.

Thank you for the info I think I will go with bypass valve none of those things you described sound good at all.<img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle>
