I was just wondering what speeds you guys and gals can hit in each gear. I have a MHP CAI and 2.25 cat back exhaust. With a hks muffler.

1st=about 28 or so
2nd=60
3rd=85 or so
4th=don't know yet
5th=don't know yet

I was just wondering if that sounded right.

Speedometer needle error is +/- 10%, Tachometer needle error is also +/- 10% so everyone's numbers may vary by quite a bit. It is also hard to tell what your speed is as you bounce off the rev limiter...

Using gear ratio information from the manual speeds as follows

1st=27
2nd=61
3rd=83
4th=109
5th=125 (ECU Limited)


Leave it to Random to Needlessly complicate things.

i dont know about in each gear but the top speed i hit in my auto accent is 124 about 125 mph. <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Thanks for the info guys. This guy tried to tell me he could hit 90 in third gear in an elantra. Do they have different gearing then the tiburon?

Yeah it a little bit different but in the end will probably hit 1-4 gear the same...who knows

I hit 127 in my Elantra, might have been down hill a little, I don't remember.

5th-im thinking 127
Also, the more power you add, the more your top speed goes up...since its a drag limited speed, not an electronically limited speed. I think awhile back i read a post on fxtreme and one of the guys had his car dyno'ed and i remember something like the rev limiter in 5th hits somewhere in thr 140mph's.

ok i have an update for my auto tranny. it hits 43 in first. and 78 in second. i didnt have a chance to test it out much further due to COPS hehehe. ill update you more when i get the chance<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

i dont know how fast i can go but i've done 125 with 5 people in the car and i still had more i think i could do 140 at redline

the fastest i've gone in my car is 109, well at least that is what the cop told me <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle> i'm pretty sure it can go fast but i can't try again for at least a year or i'll be in deep sh*t. <img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>

Hmm... 1st - 32, 2nd - 61, 3rd - 85, 4th - 108, 5th... stopped pulling at 125. But this was with 2 people in the car, and both windows and sunroof completely open (had about the same aerodynamics of a dumpster).

Ive done 25/26 in first but my limiter thing came on so I went into second havent really dogged it Im guessing 50 other then that I havent tried much other gears or noticed

Fastest Ive done was 110 my dad in his 5.0 was doing 135 and some dude in a probe was doing 120 I lost
so 1 - 25/26
2 50ish Imma test out the other gears tonight heheeh

In my auto it's about 40 in 1st. 65 in second. 100-110mph in third ( I really don't remember, I was kinda looking at the road at that speed) and I've maxed out at 132. Before I had the exhaust my top speed was 127 that I hit for close to 2 hours on the road to Vegas (of course, screwing with a Civic the whole way). The more and more that my tranny screws up, the lower speed I get out of first. Sometimes I'm at about 35, sometimes 45. ???????????
