I've tried 2 different brands - JCWhitney sells a cheap "Xenon Blue" HID-like bulb for about $16 that is HORRIBLE - the factory Philips bulbs are MUCH brighter - and the Sylvania Osram Cool Blue - not really any brighter, but somewhat "whiter" (not Blue at all, luckily) - next I am going to try the Matrix Ultimate White. I think that all of these aftermarket "HID-like" bulbs are all probably a scam, though.

PIAA plasma bulbs is the closest you will get to actually switching the entire unit to high intensity discharge (HID). They seem to last pretty long. No problems yet. But they are also expensive. $80.

JC Whitney. They suck. Don't order from them. All their products are rejects and fall apart. <img src=/images/forums/snitz/moon.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

also, just in case u didn't know, DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB WITH YOUR BARE HANDS.

the oils from your hands will make the bulb go BOOM.

I've bought a few different brands of these so "HID" bulbs and none seem to last very long. The last brand that I purchased were a brand called Import Showoffs. So far those have seemed to last the longest. They were $25 bucks a pair on Ebay. As far as the ones you buy from Pepboys, Walmart, any of your local auto parts store, they're NOTHING like HID. It would be hard to distinguish those from your stock bulbs. So far I haven't tried PIAA yet because they're so freakin' expensive, but one of these days I might give them a try. It's just hard to give up $80+ dollars when you've had bad experiences with all the other bulbs, you know? As far as one of your bulbs going out but not the other, what you might want to do sometime is switch the bulbs from left side to right side and vice versa. That happened to me all the time on my Sentra for some reason. I think the fact that these bulbs are using more wattage than stock bulbs has some kind of negative effect on the electrical system.

I think PIAA and Nokya are probably the best choices if getting replacement Xenon bulbs for your ride. PIAA is expensive so a cheaper alternative is Nokya. I don't think Nokya makes all the bulb types that you would need for a Tib, so PIAA is probably a safe bet to fulfill all the bulb needs.
Low beam: H7, 55w
High beam: H1, 55w
Foglight: H3, 55w
Turn signal, front: 1157, 27/8w
Position marker (small light in front): 194, 5w
Hope this helps. Try www.nextcollection.com, they have many bulbs from PIAA and other makes. Hey instead of paying almost $300 in bulbs, why don't you save up some more and put in a H7 HID lighting system also found on that website, and let us know how that goes. The only problem is, you won't pass an inspection with that HID system because it does not have a leveling system installed with it. That is just what I have been told. But if you just swap out the lights, you'll be fine.

Also when u are installing ur headlight bulbs u should put some electric grease on the prongs of the bulb so that it will withstand the heat and last much longer, I did that with a second pair of bulbs I had cuz the first ones blew and thenI put this grease stuff on it and they lasted me the whole time I had the car. You can pick this grease up at your local autopart store or pepboys or something.
