hey, i have a stock 96 accent 1.5. i've been recently thinking about going turbo? no i'm not looking to spend loads of money. what do i need? i'm not looking to impress very many people, i just want to add a little more get up and go power to my car...maybe 6psi max...because i don't really want the hassle of and intercooler, fuel pump and all that crap...

any useful input is greatly welcomed...thanks

and also i was thinking about putting a CAI (cold air intake) on the turbo??? is that possible?

any input please....

I'd swap over a stock Scoupe turbo setup with a rising rate fuel pressure regulator and a new exhuast, blow off valve, and metal charge pipes between the turbo and throttle body and be done with it. Shouldnt cost more than $1000 for everything.

I've never seen in person a turbocharged car without an intercooler.
But I've read through forums about people who have tried.

Turbos generate a lot heat and from my understanding the intercooler cools the air going to the engine.

Otherwise the turbo setup HEAT can destroy the engine.

If you wanted to spend a little money as possible without the major modifications.
recommend to upgrade these parts
performance cat and peformance exhaust 3inch
cold air intake
performance spark plug leads
iridium spark plugs
synthetic motor oil

I"ve got a turbocharged hyundai.
Before when I had the cold air intake, the piping was bolted on the end of intake manifold/throttle body.

Now after the turbo upgrade, the piping goes straight to the intercooler.
