I have H&R on my car. They really changed the behaviour of the car, I'm very happy with them. I mounted them with KYB GR-2 shocks and they work well. You can actually see the car riding lower, although it's only 1"6. I'm sure you'll be happy with them.

Hey I've been out of the game for some time. My H&R's are great but I'm still riding on stock struts. Once upon a time I had done a lot of research on shocks but I've just plum forgot.

So, whats the consensus on shocks that are properly matched with an H&R drop?

I searched a LOT on internet to get a set of shocks, with two parameters: 1.- I wanted something better than stock; and 2.- I didn't want anything too expensive.

I found some things, like there were no Bilsteins that aplied for Elantra; neither did I found Tockico. There were the Koni's (at tire rack and everywhere) but they were expensive --like $600-- and from what I've heard, they are anoying for daily driving, even in the softest setup.
That was then, later I found some Bilsteins on a european website I think, when I get home I'll try to find it on my PC and post them.

OK, now I'm home, I've got the part numbers for the Bilstein Shock Absorbers for Elantra, but I was so damn stupid I forgot to copy the website
Anyway, if it helps to the discussion, the part numbres are:
OEM Bilstein
VNE-4732* VNE-4886*
VNE-4733* VNE-4887*

Sport Tuned Shocks
RE2-5053
RE2-5054
