Ok...is this coincidence or what here....now I beat the nuts off my old cutlass and my bonneville, traded each one in at about 100,000 miles and had no probs with it..Now the hyundai tranny I'm kinda scared about, even if it is covered. My girlfriends 2 sisters bought an elantra and the other a accent...the 2001 elantra tranny went out twice already, now thats freakin ridiculous...and the other one bought a 2002 accent and its tranny went out...all auto cars...Now what the hell is going on here. Is this pretty much what we pay for? I have a 2001 auto tibby and was just wonderin if they have the same tranny because if mine goes in a car with such low miles im going to take a power saw to the damn car causes there no excuse for that

Thats so weird how all the autos go out, and the manuals are fine, I guess hyundai wasnt smart enought to design there trannies to cope with the horsepower that the motor puts out, sh!t dude, 97 elantra has a iron block with a aluminum head, wtf is up with that, they don't take time to sit down and think what they are doing.

I have found that the problems are with both trannies.

With my Tiburon I went through 2 trannies.

1) I was an idiot and thought it was 'fine' to drop it from 5,000 RPM and watch me peel through the school parking lot (I was 16).
2) I leant my car to my friend who gave me the idea of dropping the car from 5,000 RPM and you can probally guess who did what to the car?

Now my Sonata.

1) Umm nope no transmission busted. Running nitro supposedly does damage when its not progressive and you don't have the right cooling methods for the transmission. Runs fine, never had a problem

So well should be 2/2 if it weren't for me going through a STUPID 16 year old phase in my life
