I wasn't sure where I should post this.. but
since I am planning on doing this on a tib, here it goes..

Few questions actually.

1. Can i tint all the windows including the front?

2. If so, are there limits to a percentage of tinting?

3. I hear 3M and CPF(?) are good films. Wonder how much that will cost to do all the windows.

4. Finally, I am gonna ask my dealers to do it. Will they be tinting it with 3M? if I asked them to?

I guess this is all.. on my second thought this seems like a off-topic -_-;

I'm ALMOST POSITIVE you can't have any tint on the front windows,... I live in Winnipeg, am planning to move to Vancouver,... and I <i>JUST</i> got Tint done (35% all around) this past fall,... and I'm kinda pissed, I think I have to take the fronts off,... which will cost me as much to put it on,... <img src=/images/forums/snitz/angry.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>
As for the limits,... I think the rears can be black as tar, but the fronts have to have NO tint,... but like I say, check with BCIT.

And for the stuff,... it depends on the place you get it done at,... some places use cheap crap, other places like MING where I got mine done, use 3M Panther (I think) Stuff,... Looks GREAT!

Okay..cheori99;

1.) I got my windows tinted at my Hyundai dealer and I used to live in Scarborough, Ontario. As for the law of tinting on the front window....usually dealers will not allow tinting anything in the front; my dealer told me that police require to have the driver's face easily seen. Some dealers will give you advice regarding safety of tinting windows....my dealer didn't want too dark for my windows coz he said its gonna be hard driving in foggy-dark days.

4.) Dealers will do anything if you have the dough...so if you wanna tint with 3M...go for it.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0>

Best bet is to call your local law enforcement. Or check for motor vehicle laws online. I know in the state on Indiana you could have 30% at the least (w/ a 2% tolerance so 28%) all the way around. That includes the driver's side. The windshield couldn't have anything lower than 4 inches from the top or bottom of the glass, or beyond the factory tint line (whichever is smaller). I had 18% all the way around, still do and it looks sweet. Just don't be a dick about your car and you should be ok.<img src=/images/forums/snitz/thumbup.gif width=25 height=18 border=0>
