and a scotch brite pad, start scrubbing away...

and if you ever need to get those seals out,
get a small self tapping woodscrew, pierce the seal with the screw and pull it out..

Was it the rear main seal or the front transmission seal that went? The end of the crank looks pretty clean.

the funny thing is that mine looked like that too when i pulled my old one out,

but it never affected the clutch performance or cause a low in the oil level..

i would have thought that was just clutch dust mixed with some of the grease from the throwout bearing,

I just happened to clean that before i snapped the pic. Just so i can see if the oil was leaking from the seal.

by this time i was adding a quart of oil like every other week. Having a oil spot in my garage. So yea i get my clutch on wed. i have a lot of cleaning to do. I think i might rattle can my trannie with some aluminum paint as well
.
