quote:
Wardlaw was duly impressed. Recall that the old Elantra ranked third in a field of nine economy sedans in a comparison test we conducted last year. This new one might well have snagged first place if the same test were run today, even though this new car doesn't have the same scrappy, take-on-all-comers character of the old car.

Its good to see that some magazines/websites still know a good car when they see one. A lot go into testing with a negative attitude therefore not seeing the postive points of a car. Case and Point, car and driver is one, along with Automobile magazine, 2 magazines that I cancelled my subscription to because of their biased attitude toward cars. Automobile literally destroyed the Tiburon in one test and C&D gave the Elantra terrible reviews, but the Civic they praised about. 2001 Elantra is better inside and out and anyone will see that if they look into it with an open mind. Edmunds.com is very openminded and knows a good car when they see one. I agree with a lot of their reviews.

Them Hyundais get better and better every year.

Yeah, I found so many good reviews for the new Elantra I had to give it look, I wasn't really planning on buying one, though I always thought
Hyundai were a great value...well not ALWAYS thought, but for the last 3 or 4 years I did. The more I looked
and test-drove the more impressed I was...the rest is history.
