Does anyone have zex nos on their tibby. I was looking to get the kit on speedstate and I had some questions. Do you have to do anything to your motor before you put it on, like get different injectors or fuel pump or is is just a direct bolt on, take it out of the box hook up the lines and go
The only mods that I have done to my motor is a CAI, plugs and wires.
So all I want to know is do I have to do any more mods than what I have on it already and will it hurt my motor any Thanks for the help

as far as I've heard, if you stick to the 55 shot your ok. Anything more and you need better fuel pump, maybe pistons, rings, etc.
I think a 55 shot will be pretty fast, anyhow. Might want to get header / exhaust.

2001 blue Tibby, leather, cd, custom racing stripes, etc. every option avail.

Racecar...I have Zex. I'm running a 65 shot, but I have an upgraded fuel pump and injectors. If you run just a normal 55 shot, you'll be fine. I would recomend though making sure you have the basics first. I/H/E combo. But it's not a nessecity. Also, be sure t do your homework on it. Nitrous can be a VERY dangerous thing to you and your engine if you're not familiar with how it works or what it can do to you car. Good luck, be safe, and have fun with it!

P.S. Just want you to know also that if you have a car with a warranty and you install the nitrous....90% of dealerships out there WILL void your warranty for having it. Just some food for thought.

I have the zex system, its awesome. I would definetly get it. just spray above 3000 rpm's and all will be good. little piece of advice get a stage 3 race/street clutch. you will be replacing it if you don't. I went through 2 stock clutchs and my car only has 7000 miles on it. now I have the stage 3 from clutch masters and it's awesome. be careful it's addictive!! hehehe....lol

see that's my problem with nos. it's all well and good to take hits from the bottle every so often, but i know if i had it on my car i'd be using it all the time, and that will most definately hurt any engine over a period of time, along with costing money and time to get your bottle refilled.

why dont you turbo?

I'm getting rid of my Nitrous in the spring. I have my Supercharger on order. I'm more of a show car and don't want crazy insane speed that a turbo generates. The nitrous is fun and all, but I wouldn't mind having just a LITTLE more kick. So the SC is great. I'll be faster than when I had the ZEX in, but slower than a turbocharged Tibby. Perfect for me!

nmap, what makes you think that nitrous is more harmful than a turbo? There basically the same if you think about it your forcing the engine to make more power than it was orginally planned to make. If your careful and don't overstep your boundries nitrous is just as safe as a turbo no matter how much you use it.
