I´m changing all the engine parts for my Tiburon 1998 1.8 LT but I´m using a 2.0 LT rods.
I need to know if my engine will be affected or not.
Are the same rods 1.8LT and 2.0LT ?

Please help me!! :surprised::??:

if your changing all the engine parts, why not just swap the 1.8 to a beta 2.0? if you have the money, I mean it sounds like you want more power, and changing "every" engine part..cams,rods,pistons,throttle body etc, get a 2.0 instead and turbo it!

The 1.8L crankshaft has a shorter throw than the 2.0L crank, but the blocks are the same deck-height. This means the rods in the 2.0L are shorter, or depending on how you see it, the rods in the 1.8L are longer.

Thus, putting 2.0L rods in an engine with a 1.8L crankshaft will result in pistons that never come to the top of the block deck. That's very bad, in case you were wondering :)
